A short term missions experience that changes lives.
Let’s be honest, most of the young people you shepherd know the right answers to the spiritual questions you ask. And yet, we see so few people truly living “all-in”, “sold-out” for the Gospel. Oftentimes all that’s missing is an authentic encounter, a profound spiritual experience that anchors their head knowledge with their experience.
Taking students on a short-term mission trip where they are taken out of their comfort zone and put in a position to truly rely on God can be the missing ingredient that transforms casual Christians into on-fire, passionate Christ followers.
Serve Orlando is missions project held in the Central Florida area. We partner with you to create a turn-key experience that matches your ministry objectives.
It’s AFFORDABLE and it’s EASY
Why Serve Orlando Exists:
- LOVE for God and others – this is the heart of Serve Orlando. Out of that love, we serve.
- SERVE – Your group will serve at 2 sites each day. It’s really a way of life.
- GROW – Getting out of your comfort zone, seeing real human need and meeting it – this is how we cultivate missional living as a way of life.
We’ve been doing youth ministry for a long time. We planned the trips, lead the worship and given the talks. We love students and youth ministers and want you to be able to SHOW UP AND SERVE knowing you have an experienced local ministry team here in Central Florida to coordinate all the details so you can focus on ministry to your students!
Carrie Williamson serves as the Director of Serve Orlando – Carrie was born and raised in Orlando and has a heart for seeing students’ lives changed, serving her community in real ways and putting your mission trip together so all you have to do is get here and hang out with your students.
She has been actively involved in youth ministry for more than 15 years. She knows her stuff.
What you will do:
Our mission trips are customizable, but a typical week long mission group arrives on Sunday and takes that first day to get oriented. You will be staying at Canterbury Retreat and Conference Center which has close to 50 acres of beautiful woods, hiking trails, a ropes course and a pristine lake. You will be sleeping in comfortable rooms and eating in our dining hall – not sleeping on floors.
On Monday through Thursday you will be serving at 2 sites each day, working with local ministries and organizations, serving people at various shelters, working with children, and helping organizations like our local Food Bank. Your day starts with a morning devotion and ends with evening worship and time with your group to debrief what you experience each day.
Most groups want to schedule a “fun day” experience. There’s no shortage of options for that from visiting world famous Daytona beach, to the Kennedy Space Center, local canoeing and of course our area attractions: Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, water parks and so much more.
Week long mission groups depart on Saturday morning.

Groups are housed at Canterbury Retreat and Conference located about 20 minutes outside of Orlando.
The mission of Canterbury is to be a center for spiritual growth, equipping people with life and ministry skills, offering hospitality in a sacred space where people can come to know and grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord.
Groups sleep in hotel or bunk style rooms that can sleep 3-4 people per room. Each room has a private bathroom and shower. Our main building has a cafeteria and meeting space for small and large groups along with audio visual capabilities. Our chapel is a beautiful option for evening worship, too! There are also team building opportunities through our ropes course for an additional cost!
Can we choose where we want to serve? We want to make sure you have the best experience possible with your group! You will receive a list of organizations to choose from and we will do our best to line up opportunities for you to serve there!
What should we do about transportation? If your group is larger than 15 people total we will need to split you into 2 groups so bringing vans would be your best option. Charter buses can be used to get to Orlando, but cannot be used to travel to mission sites each day. We can help you find rental vans in the area.
