We live in a crowded, fast-paced, media saturated world. Every day people are pulling on our time, vying for our attention. Distractions abound. Yet, in the midst of this chaos we are expected to grow our business, serve our community, make quality decisions, find new insights and forge new paths of success.
How is that possible?
One way is to be intentional in stepping off the treadmill, stepping back from the whirl of activity and finding space to breathe, to dream, to listen to that inner voice, to hear God speak, to get in touch with our feelings, our emotions, our past as well as the possibilities for our future.
Canterbury is dedicated to creating a Sacred Space where this can happen.
Explore our Facilities
Nestled on 48 beautifully wooded acres with Lake Gem as its centerpiece, Canterbury’s charm helps make every event memorable.
For your event’s particular needs, we offer five meeting rooms of different sizes (boardroom to banquet hall), each equipped with WiFi, audio/visual equipment and accoutrements to meet your requirements.
If you’ll be lodging with us, we offer 39 private guest rooms (74 beds in all) each with their own bathrooms – all linens are provided, offering you all the comforts of home, intentionally without the distraction of television and telephone.
Explore Our Meeting Space
Bishop Folwell Building is the heart of Canterbury Retreat Center. Here we have two conference rooms, St. Paul’s and Winchester rooms. It is also home to the dining room, where guests are treated to delicious home cooking! The St. Paul and dining rooms can convert into a single large room that seats 160 at round tables. Winchester room can be utilized as a single medium sized room (60 at round tables) or can be divided with an acoustic air wall into two smaller rooms. St. Paul, and both halves of Winchester have smart large screen monitors that can run individually or in unison.
The 300 Lodging Building is a single story building, set a small distance from the main building and has 10 lodging rooms and the St. Alban’s Conference room. St. Alban’s room seats approximately 50 guests at round tables, has a smart large screen monitor, and has a beautiful wooded view.
Explore Canterbury’s Food Services
Canterbury’s food service team is fantastic, preparing and serving homemade cuisine to thrill your palette. Meals are served buffet style in our dining room at regular mealtimes, with the options of a continental breakfast, snacks, reception or banquet set-ups also available. Outside of our dining room, guests can enjoy their meal on our dining deck, complete with tables, chairs and umbrellas, overlooking Lake Gem.
Explore our Grounds
While you’re at Canterbury you might enjoy quiet time on one of our docks, our mile long walking trail with exercise stations, or a restful tour of Lake Gem in one of our canoes, kayaks or paddleboats.
Your activities could also include our professional ropes course that affords a great team-building and participant-challenging experience. We have a professional ropes team available that can guide your group or party through beginner to advanced obstacles. You can read more about this at http://tiesthatbind.biz.
