power of silence. You will see
how silent meditation and mindfulness
relate to the Christian tradition of
contemplative prayer.
Jerry incorporates selected readings
from Thomas Merton, as well as
suggestions by John Main and other
spiritual masters, to help you find a
greater inner peace and a place for God
to be reborn in your heart. The beautiful
grounds of Canterbury Center will
inspire you, also.
Gerald J. Schiffhorst, Ph.D., Professor
Emeritus of English at the University
of Central Florida has been a teacher
for the past 40 years and is an author
who has published nine books. A
past director of the International
Thomas Merton Society, he has written
about silence and Christian
spirituality. In the past year,
he has given talks and workshops on
writing in central Florida
